Patroller Survey Report 2006
This report was complied in 2006 with the assistance of patrollers who completed either online forms or at the Thredbo AEC course in October.
Thanks go to the work put in by Dr Tracey Dickson of the University of Canberra for her efforts in getting this project to completion.
Patroller Injury Survey (FIPS)
FIPS is completing a study into injuries to ski patrollers. The study aims to identify the nature and extent of injuries to patrollers together with details of any short, long-term or permanent consequences. Some injuries to patrollers result from a specific incident while others result from repetitive activities. Unfortunately, there is virtually no documented information on patroller injuries or their impact.
The results of this ski patroller injury study should help identify the extent of the problem and could assist in the design of training programs and/or changes in the work place to avoid potential injury situations. The study may also assist with claims by patrollers by providing information on what has occurred in other areas. It is anticipated that there will be a Study Report at the FIPS Congress in Åre, Sweden in 2009.
Please complete the form and return it to FIPS.
