National medal awarded

By Mark Spilsbury
18 January 2008

The National Medal has been awarded to a ski patroller for the first time.

Peter Duval, a Thredbo patroller since the 1960's was awarded this medal late in 2007 for his contributions to the industry over many years .

Unfortunately he was poorly at  the time  and passed away shortly therafter.  The joy that he lived every day with was an example to us all and a constant reminder of why we do what we do, both for skiing and in life.

The link below gives an brief on Peter and his humanity.
