Unit descriptor:                 This unit specifies the outcomes required to provide first aid in a range of settings to manage the incident and response, and communicate with others involved in the treatment or response.

This unit covers the application of skills and knowledge in an emergency in the workplace where first aid treatment options are applied. It is about assessing the situation, providing first aid to the casualty, coordinating first aid until arrival of medical assistance, communicating details of the incident to others involved in treatment, and evaluating the incident after the event to learn from the situation activities.

Treatment is applied according to casualty(s) management needs and established first aid principles

3. Coordinate first aid activities until arrival of medical/emergency assistance
