Student Orientation
An application and waiver
MUST be signed prior to commencement of a course. Students MUST have
fully functioning personal protective equipment. Students must not
participate in practical examinations and practices without this personal
protective equipment. Students have a responsibly to protect themselves
and others from biological hazards.
Course handouts and
enrolments forms are the primary tools of communication about courses and
provide orientation information concerning:

dates and times of the
course

location
-
registration
-
times and dates of the
examination
-
first timer introductions
and special arrangements
-
parking
-
course materials
-
waiver and conditions
protective equipment and body substances protective devices costs and
purchase arrangements
textbook and CD manual

payment arrangements and
discounts
catering and/or lunch venues in the area
All courses have a
commencement briefing. Students are expected to attend this session to
ensure effective orientation to the programs
Student Behaviour
The Student Code of Conduct is based on a
set of rights and their related responsibilities. To ensure that students
understand their rights and responsibilities, ASPA provides this orientation
information as a prevention strategy.
All students have the right to:
- be treated with courtesy, kindness and
respect
- express feelings and opinions assertively
- work and socialise in an atmosphere of
harmony and cooperation
- feel secure and to be safe in a caring and
supportive environment
- expect that training rules are fair,
consistently implemented and respect the rights of all involved
- be valued for their individuality,
including that of race, gender, cultural, physical or intellectual diversity
- learn in a supportive atmosphere
